Dancehall is a culture born in the ghettos of Jamaica encompassing music, dance, language, and fashion. The dances generally reflect what is happening the in the streets.

Old Skool dancehall is all about the flow and groove with the music. These steps are not complicated but catching the feeling and the groove is the challenge. In our workshop we be learning many Old Skool dances created by the originator of dancehall, Gerald "Bogle" Levy. Some of his better known dances are Row di Boat, Willie Bounce, and Wacky Dip. As for New Skool many individuals and teams of dancers create steps which can be very simple to very complex - almost like small combinations of choreography. We will learn steps created by Latonya Style, Kimiko Versatile, Stacia Fyah, Dancing Rebel, Outshine girls, Jack Hammer girls, Boisey Black Roses, Kriptic Klick, Black Eagles, Overload Skankaz, and many more.

We hope during this workshop you will increase your confidence and knowledge of dancehall as well as have a blast learning and filming this routine.
